Los Angeles, CA – March 6, 2024 – Orbital Studios, a film and television production studio and end-to-end virtual production service provider, proudly announces the appointment of Mike Sill as the newest Virtual Production Operator. With over 15 years of experience in the film, television, and gaming industries, Mike Sill brings a wealth of expertise and creativity to the team, further solidifying its position as an industry leader in virtual production.
Mike Sill’s remarkable portfolio boasts over 70 productions and deliverables, including significant contributions to prestigious titles such as The Mandalorian (Season 1, Virtual Art Department Lead), The Fortnite Cinematic Universe, XCOM 2, Borderlands 3, Logan, Pacific Rim: Uprising, The Orville, and many more.
Prior to joining Orbital Studios, Mike held central roles at esteemed companies such as Epic Games, where he served as the ICVFX R&D Stage Operator and represented the Media & Entertainment department, delivering over 200 Virtual Production demonstrations to companies from over 40 countries. His tenure also includes serving as Technical Art Director at Halon Entertainment and contributing his expertise to Schell Games.
With a strong focus on lighting, blueprints, materials, and over two decades of expertise in Unreal Engine, Mike's addition to the team further strengthens the studio's capabilities in pushing the boundaries of storytelling through innovative virtual production techniques.
