While this process feels like the Wild West for many, thought leaders in the space are working toward making this method of production more seamless and one that can be used for productions of any size and budget.

We sat down with AJ Wedding, co-founder of Orbital Studios, to discuss his collaboration with Avatar and Star Trek creature designer Neville Page on the sci-fi short Coalescence. Together with other creative minds in the virtual production arena, they produced the piece as an exploration tool to determine ways to create a better pipeline.
